Wool Diaries at Textielmuseum
Exhibition Wool Diaries
For this special collaboration three designers worked with wool in the TextielLab: Borre Akkersdijk, Pauline van Dongen and Oda Pausma. A creative process that resulted in three mini collections with innovative and durable garments.
The exhibition runs from 27th April untill November 3, 2013.

A few months ago we let you know Pauline van Dongen was selected by C&A to participate in the ‘Reimagine Design Challenge’.
A contest between eight international designers with the aim to show how daily life can inspire new ways of thinking. Pauline has designed a garment of organic shapes that are made of latex coated plastic plates. She turned an everyday plastic object into haute couture.
Now you can vote for her on Facebook! If she wins, she may donate 10.000 euro to charity within Dutch fashion.
Winde Rienstra shows “Mourning Cloak” during AFW

Last saturday Winde Rienstra showed already her 4th collection during Amsterdam Fashion Week. Her collection showed dark and black items, a great contrast compared to the bright and white colors that she used in her past collections. Her inspiration came from Mexican and Japanese old cultures and the way they cope with death. The beautiful shoes were made from wood and tie wraps

Pauline van Dongen participate in the C&A Reimagine Design Challenge
Pauline van Dongen was selected by C&A to participate in the ‘Reimagine Design Challenge’. A contest between eight international designers with the aim to show how daily life can inspire new ways of thinking. Pauline was challenged to work with plastic sets of cutlery, cups and plates and transform these objects into a garment. She recycled these everyday objects and transformed them into an aesthetic design.

Winde Rienstra at Centraal Museum Utrecht
From the 19th of January you will be able to see Winde Rienstra’s designs in Centraal Museum Utrecht. Rienstra decorated the Nieuw Utrecht Kamers. Centraal Museum Utrecht hopes this cooperation will strengthen the connection between fashion designers from Utrecht and make their work visible to a wider audience. The fashion designer is the second designer from Utrecht that fills the new platform for young talent. Artist Ienke Kastelein was given the opportunity in October 2012 to show in the Nieuw Utrecht Kamers.

The Woolmark Company presents WINDE RIENSTRA at Amsterdam Fashion Week
Amsterdam Fashion Week is coming up! This year Amsterdam Fashion Week takes place from 23rd till 27th of January. Sponsored by the Woolmark Company, Winde Rienstra shows her latest collection at the Westergasfabriek. We are looking forward to this catwalk show by this beautiful upcoming designer! The show takes place at 26th of January at 17.15, location: Transformatorhuis. Please note that the catwalk show is by invitation only.
MOAM in &Foam
MOAM in &Foam is an unique exhibition that showcases interesting collaborations between the most successful names and promising newcomers in Dutch fashion and photography. During this project, in which fifteen contemporary photographers work with fifteen designers, they give a new interpretation to three iconic pictures. These iconic pictures are from the well-established Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Anton Corbijn and Erwin Olaf. In addition, each photographer is linked to a Dutch designer. This creates inspiring and creative combinations to reinterpret these iconic images. To name a few combinations: Blommers/Schumm & Mattijs van Bergen, Philippe Vogelenzang & Winde Rienstra, and Paul Bellaart & Jan Taminiau.

Wool Week Amsterdam 2012
This week the first Wool Week Amsterdam takes place. There are lots of activities held in Amsterdam in order to give more attention to this material. Last monday 21 leading Dutch fashion and design creatives showed their unique new wool designs with amongst others Winde Rienstra, Bas Kosters and Jan Taminiau. You can still visit this exhibition until the 11th at Hotel Droog. Tomorrow SPRMRKT organizes SPR WOOL, a catwalk show with woolen clothes from the AW12 collections. Fridaynight Maison de Bonneterie organizes Wool de Bonneterie where young designers show their vision on wool and will design live inside the store!
The Wool Week is an initiative of Campaign for Wool and is held from 5 – 11th of November.
Winde Rienstra and Marloes Blaas during Modo Parcours Brussels

Last weekend Modo Brussels organized its 12th MODO PARCOURS. This annual event, takes place every year in Brussel and shows Belgium’s latest fashion talents at more than 60 different locations. For this edition Modo Brussel invited The Netherlands as their guest country. Several designers, like Winde Rienstra and Marloes Blaas, were invited to participate during this fashion event. The beautiful exhibition of Winde Rienstra during the MODO PARCOURS is shown on the picture above.

Pauline van Dongen and Jovanna Kruitbosch nominated for Red’s Hot Woman Award
Every year, Red magazine goes on a search for inspiring, successful and ambitious Dutch women. Their readers have nominated and voted for many women, which resulted in a shortlist of 6 categories.
We are proud to say that in the fashion category, designer Pauline van Dongen and founder of Kiboots Jovanna Kruitbosch have been nominated . Everybody can vote for one woman in each category on the Red website. Of course we hope Jovanna or Pauline will have the great honour to win the title: Red’s Hot Woman. So go and vote!
